Now then Literature freaks. We hope you have had, and continue to experience, a wonderful summer. Next Wednesday the BGS A2 course will begin and here are the set examination texts that you should have devoured since our last collision:
Mr.Stevenson's A2 students will be reading WUTHERING HEIGHTS by Emily Bronte and MACBETH by ShakeyBill.
Mr.Richardson's A2 students will be reading FRANKENSTEIN by Mary Shelley and DR.FAUSTUS by Christopher Marlowe.
A2 students will be expected to produce two pieces of coursework that explore texts selected by the student. This will consist of two novels and a poem or short story. The two pieces of coursework will form 40% of the A2 grade with the exam providing 60% of the final A2 grade.
See you next week. Feel free to e-mail AS or MLR if you have any Literature related queries.
MLR will begin the A2 intellectual journey of literary delights with a consideration of T.S.Eliot's THE LOVE SONG OF J.ALFRED PRUFROCK. Students will be exploring how Eliot uses metaphor to shape meaning. Furthermore, students will be expected to identify the thematic nature of Walton's letters at the beginning of Shelley's Frankenstein and discuss the techniques used by Shelley to construct an engaging introduction to this classic novel.
See you soon Lit people.
