YEAR 12/13 POETRY COURSEWORK..July 2018

Over the last couple of sessions we have been discussing some of the poems in my FEED YOUR BRAIN anthology and discussing the ideas reflected in the AQA Critical Anthology. The poets we have discussed have included..

YOUR COURSEWORK will demand that you explore the content of THREE poems from your chosen poet. The central question that you will need to answer within this coursework task is:
SHOULD THE POETRY OF ?????? BE CONSIDERED CANONICAL?
or
TO WHAT EXTENT CAN THE POETRY OF ?????? BE CONSIDERED TO HAVE LITERARY VALUE?
*****the whole focus of the task needs to consider notions of literary value.

The quality of the class discussion has, apart from one SHOCKING LESSON after the mock exam, been OUTSTANDING. The discussion linked to Eliot's Prufrock and Shelley's Mask of Anarchy was particularly impressive. Here are some resources to digest.
